Gave away one of my Khuks the other day

A good friend of mine was over the house the other day and was looking at my computer stuff and the Digital camera I have. He saw some of the pictures I have taken and we started talking about the Khuks and my Katana.

I showed him the 18" Sher Siru and his eyes almost poped out of his head and he got that smaile on his face(You all know what smile I mean).:D

As he looked at it and handled it the smile got bigger and bigger and his eyes were like little stars.

So I asked him if he wanted it and I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. :)

As a Veterian from the Air Force and he is retired (65 Years old) I know he will get alot of use out of it on his boat and while camping.

I did the same thing while I was in South Africa. It's hard not to be generous with khuk's when the man we get them from is so generous. I love my khuks but if I know someone will get use out of it I give them away (only to people who mean something to me). They're made to be used and they wouldn't be serving their purpose under a table or on a wall.

I don't know what I like better, getting them myself or giving them away to unsuspecting people.

giving khuks is like giving the HIKV to a buddy along with the khuk. I hooked a buddy up with a Sanu Villager, and he fell in love. He's a collector of flashy knives and swords, and he felt that the villager was the perfect fit for the collection--its understated looks hide that is it the best one he owns!

Trading them is almost as fun as giving them, because you give and receive!

I gave a couple away to two Army officer buddies of my son. The look on their face when I presented the blade to them was worth 100 times the value of the knife. :)
