So I've totally and completely drunk the Gavko kool-Aid, and I now find myself quietly obsessed with Michal Gavac's work. Not only are many of his knives stunningly beautiful, they also seem made to be used, not just admired. I must add one to my collection before the next full moon... or else!
Unfortunately, I've not spent loads of time handling and familiarizing myself with the different styles he offers, and so I'm unable to make an informed decision on which 'formfactor' would suit me best?
I was hoping to get feedback from those of you more familiar with the various models offered by Mr. Gavac... Focusing mainly on his tactical flippes like the Mako (thick, modified, micro, etc.); Hammerhead; Blacktip; Spinner (2.0; thick; baby, etc.); Bullhead; Great White (*okay, I made that last one up).
The fact is there are a ton of options, and it's not exactly clear what the differences are other than blade-shape. In terms of real world use, are some models/blade-shapes more functional/practical in your experience? Care to ellaborate? Which model tends to be the most sought after, and why? Is there one that tends to 'flip' better than the rest?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
