GAW time - Winner announced!

I always enjoy reading about the places our Porch members live, work, and what recreational activities they do (and of course, seeing pictures of the variety of traditional knives y'all own). I live on the coast, nearest large geographical feature is the Atlantic about two miles away. I fish and hunt when I'm not working or boating (that's a family activity for us). I use the ALOX Electrician as a fisherman's knife - the awl does a wonderful job drilling small holes in bait and the blades slice like razors. I won't enter the GAW because I have two SAK Electrician's already, one with a red shield that I use, and one with an unpainted shield (backup in case the first one drops into the drink!). These ALOX SAKs are the best of the breed in my opinion, very well made and quite snappy. Thanks for the GAW, enjoyed the stories and pictures. OH

Thanks for this great GAW!

I live on a little island called Manhattan which makes up a part of our little village named New York (technically we may be incorporated as a city, but who’s counting?) (Speaking of counting…) On the roughly 300 square miles within city limits, about 8.5 million of my neighbors live.
Pictured is my block, which is quiet and mainly residential, and is about 9 miles from Times Square. Out of focus in the foreground is my big 858OT stockman.

I know of no livestock operations in my city, but I should note there is a rat that can be seen on our sidewalk on nights before garbage pickup. My 5-year-old daughter has given a name: “Skinny.”

I've been a little slow posting the package I received from mitch13 mitch13 , I just haven't had a chance to really spend any time on the Forum in a little bit. My new knife, coins, and stubby holder (Mitch informed me that they are not called beer cozies in Oz). My son (who is not allowed to use knives unsupervised, on only barely while supervised) really took a shine to the alox. He is enchanted by the idea of a metal handled SAK. I suspect that I will have to keep tabs on the knife since the boy is half raccoon and liable to go hunting for this knife.

I thought that the light through the window would make for a pretty photo, I couldn't quite get what I wanted, but I am thankful for Mitch's generosity.

You are welcome my friend😎
Sounds like you & your son will be spending some quality time together.👍👍
Hope you get lots of use out of it.
Mitch

Congratulations again AbbyDaddy. Pretty cool coins too.

So the cozy is called a stubby holder? That’s.... different.
Correct.
Standard size bottle of beer is a stubby, 750ml bottle is known as a longneck.
Thought the coins would be good, as they will be changed for head of state in the future.
