GAW to celebrate me finding the porch

... i have seen several gaws on here and am admittedly a sucker for traditional knives. I am doing a GAW to celebrate finding a forum of the knowledge and friendly nature of the folks on the porch here.

So here goes:
From now til next Wednesday tell me about either
1. The first knife you were except given
2.The first knife you gave away
3. The first knife you saved for and bought yourself
I will generate a winner randomly on thrusday morning 5/4/2017.

The prize is a 1993.5-1999 4 dot red bone Case xx canoe pattern. Good luck and I look forward to the stories.
TJ, I really admire your reason for hosting this GAW! Totally agree with you that this is a very special place to hang out.

Like you, I've discovered I'm a sucker for traditional knives, and for me, I'm a hopeless sucker for canoes! As a card-carrying "canoesseur", I'm all in for your generous opportunity at that handsome Case canoe!

This Colonial Forest-Master is the first knife I was ever given, back about 1960. I used it multiple times each day for multiple tasks on the dairy farm on which I grew up until I went off to college in September 1969. And then I rarely used a pocket knife until January 2014.

The first GAW I did on The Porch offered 2 winners their choice of a knife from this set of 4:

The winners picked the Buck Solo and the Rough Rider large toothpick. (I'd like to link to that thread, but I can't seem to find a list of the threads I've started. I was able to do that soon after the software change, but apparently I've temporarily forgotten. :(
ETA: finally figured it out again

Thanks again for the generous GAW, TJ, and best wishes to all the participants! :D

Gonna generate a winner now---edited I have been a day off all week sorry winner will be picked tomorrow morning I thought today was Thursday

Ok. I'm in! I did my first give away about three weeks ago. I have learned that many of the folks on here are fond of GEC knives and due to GEC's penchant for short runs, a lot of people have trouble getting their hands on them when they come out. Then you see the flippers selling them for 50% more. Anyway, I sensed the frustration folks felt trying to just buy one. So, I was lucky enough to get my hands on several of the 13's in all combinations. I gave a couple away to good friends, one on this board and one who is a good friend not on the forum. I decided to put a little salve on the frustration level people experience with getting GEC's and do a giveaway of a #13 Micarta Whittler. After doing some checking I also opened it to members in UK Europe and Canada, because they have an added problem getting their hands on these. As it happened Jolipapa Jolipapa won the random number. He lives in France. It feels good to make someones day!

If it's any consolation I've been thinking it was Thursday all day too! Even put the trash out just now and had to bring it back:)

This will be the first GAW I've entered...

1. Imperial Kamp King given to me by my dad on my 8th birthday, along with my Daisy BB Rifle. I lost it in 2007 during my house fire, but the Daisy survived by residing in the attic at my parents.

2. The first knife I ever gave away would have to be a Buck 112 that I gave my younger brother on his birthday. I owned it for about 2 years, and decided I liked the 110 better, so I gave the 112 to him in 1988. He still carries it today.

3. The first knife I saved for and bought myself would be the Buck 110 that I bought using newspaper delivery money back in 1988. I had up til 2007, losing it in the house fire, too
