Gayle Bradley 1- We need more

Has Spyderco ever brought back a discontinued model back into production, In original form? Pretty sure only specific dealers/vendors have commissioned Exclusives(Slysz Bowie, Tuff, Dodo, Etc) from the discontinued list, Though I may be wrong.

Having a dealer (Hopefully DLT) run an exclusive GB1 with materials they've used on other models, Is the most likely scenario. I'm in for any variation of the GB1 or GB2 that comes along!

Interesting question. l'll rephrase it this way: Does Constant Quality Improvement apply to non-in-house designs? Maybe they would have to consult with Gayle Bradley on a GB 3 (?). Assuming that there was anything to improve. Just thinking out loud here.

Not that I know of.

They've issued sprints and exclusives of many models in many variations of but not identical to the original. Even subsequent generational versions of a specific model (like the Native or more recently the SmallFly) are not identical to the original (or other generational versions).

And, personally, I like it like that.

So, if you want an original GB1 (or 2), you'll have to buy it on the Exchange or in another 2ndary market.

I think the GB1 is the only knife I ever bought a 2nd of to keep as a backup. My user has the skeletonized liners and I have a LNIB early run with solid liners. I'd love to see a "GB3" using the GB1 design but with contoured scales like the Shaman instead of the proud liners. For steel, M4, K390, or Magnacut would probably all sell well.

I hear ya. It's a fantastic knife. Hard to believe that not that long ago they could be had for around 110 to 120 dollars.

Truly a great pocket knife.

I realize I'm reviving a dead thread...

But I desperately would love to see a new run of GB1.

I was a fool and sold mine.

Fingers crossed.

You can still buy an original again.

Probably wouldn't be a price difference for a new run versus buying a original.
Unfortunately

I had a few GB1’s and loved them but ultimately sold them. I am not interested in paying 250+ for one now.

Today though…… I was at a local outdoor store and they had a brand new GB2 sitting in their case for 159$. I snagged it. I was really surprised how much I liked the feel of it. It is also way lighter than the GB1. I am planning to edc it. I will let you know how I think it compares to the Original.
