Here's a stunning & impressive slipjoint from Gayle Nickles. The niece of Oklahoma knife maker Gerald Nickels, has obvious knife making talent. She is 15 years old.Schooled in knifemaking by her Uncle & others, after school & in her spare time.

This elegant trapper is thin & light. It has a one piece milled frame, integral bolster, liner & cap, with girrafe bone inlaid scales, fancy curves . Hollow ground CPM 154 CM ss blade has a satin hand rubbed finish.Crescent nail nick. It is 3.5" closed,6.5" open. Blade measures 3" ,with a 2-7/8" cutting edge. Smooth & snappy action. Medium firm snap.Spring is flush in half stop positions, blade centers perfect closed. No blade play. Very impressive workmanship by this young maker.Really nice design,as well. The knife has a "sunk joint",and the blade lays nice & low in the frame closed.I have handled 5 knives now from Gayle & the fit & finish, designs, etc. ,are really fantastic. Great job Gayle  ,keep 'em coming.

Prices include Con US shipping,Postal Priority insured with tracking

Great job Gayle! I love the look of the front bolster. It's good to add fresh new ideas to slipjoint making like that.

Eeexxxcellent!! You have the talent Gayle, is this your first offering? Thanks and Keep after the knifemaking.

Seeing that bolster...imagine that with Ebony Scales!! ( not taking anything away from original knife-just awesome ) I like the shape of the clip point blade... cool.

I met Gerald and his wife at a show, great folks. No surprise that he's passing on the art. Great work Gayle!
