There was a time when a Musician (aka a drummer), whose idea of a wilderness trip included complaining about a scout troop camped close by.....and his friend that started on the 'net as a self confessed newby (whose campsite party trick was lighting his own farts), who then invited his inexperienced younger friend (famous for needing to be shown where he was camped because he got too drunk to know where his bed was) were the Moderators here.

What has happened?

Some years back I spend some time reading at the fallkniven forums, there was an older fellow with a grey beard, he had a lot of knowledge of the outdoors and a nice demeanor....
His posts was well thought out and a joy to read, you could tell that he knew what he spoke about, no two ways about it. no proof needed.
I liked that he was so straight forward, yet relaxed and pleasant. I learned how nice a tool the GB mini is, from some of his post. Some of my best money spent on that hatchet.

I liked his integrity, he showed it more more then once....

I can't recall his name just now, but when I think about him, it makes me sad that he does not post any more, we lost a great outdoor resource and a good teacher when he disappeared a couple years ago.

I wonder what happened to him.................
 
Good to see ya back Mick:thumbup: you should post a review on your bird & trout and hunter to see how they are holding up

I'm guessing SC is trashing the supermod Morrow but I need video proof first.
 
The eternal September is longer on some forums than others.

SC is publicly calling out Morrow and pining for the good ol days.

I think he's talking about Brian Jones. He's currently a mod (inactive) of this and the W&SS forum.

If you want to get away with expressing an ignorant opinion on the 'net, do yourself a favour and include the letters "IMO".

That way others who read your posts will take your comments for what they are, rather than believing they are a statement of fact from someone who thinks they know what they are talking about.
 
I was hoping I was the drummer but don't recall complaining about Scouts. I'll take the "fart guy" if it's still open... I don't drink much and haven't been considered a youngster for a while now. But you may be referring back further than my membership start date.

How's my friend, Mick?! I miss your posts and vids, buddy... but not the chaos that often followed in their wake... lol.

LOL. That will always be a problem for anyone who has spent long enough on the 'net and has a long term memory, who tries to put the 'net and their "popular heroes" into an accurate context that might contradict their 'net image. :D

I'm well & continue to do what I have always done (although since March this year, I have been questioning if it's worth the time & effort to post videos on youtube).....Especially when I have realised that by & large, acknowledement of a persons opinion on the 'net has nothing to do with evidence that they know that they are talking about, but rather how popular they are by what IMO "results from massaging ego's & ki$$ing a$$e".

As you can see Rick, I still call it as I see it

A question if I may, has real change ever come about, without a challenge to the popular & comfortable "status quo"?

A futher clue for number 2...The Blue flamer (aka fart lighter) made a stella rise within a short period of time from an "inexperienced newbie to wilderness survival instructor", based on posts that marketed his mentor on another forum.

Who is he?

After watching several of your videos, I would whole-heartedly support your line of questioning.

Instead, you should just stick to the tired horse you keep flogging about "internet experts." Now there is some shocking and revalatory info. Up unitl you started including this salient tidbit in every single one of your posts, I just assumed that if it was on the internet, it must be true.

Not a clue. Sounds painful, especially if someone has a fat a$$. I'd guess that a change in professions benefitted him greatly? A wise choice.
