G'day Morrow

There was a time when a Musician (aka a drummer), whose idea of a wilderness trip included complaining about a scout troop camped close by.....and his friend that started on the 'net as a self confessed newby (whose campsite party trick was lighting his own farts), who then invited his inexperienced younger friend (famous for needing to be shown where he was camped because he got too drunk to know where his bed was) were the Moderators here.

What has happened?

Mick

The eternal September is longer on some forums than others.

SC is publicly calling out Morrow and pining for the good ol days.

If you want to get away with expressing an ignorant opinion on the 'net, do yourself a favour and include the letters "IMO".

That way others who read your posts will take your comments for what they are, rather than believing they are a statement of fact from someone who thinks they know what they are talking about.

G'day Carpeater Dundee,

I think, actually, I got it pretty much dead on.

Sad that the forum has changed are we? How quaint. How utterly naive.

Either this is your first time to the internet rodeo or you're one of those types who keep coming back without ever getting it. Since you seem to be confused and dismayed, let me help you about how forums work, ATMO.

ALL POSTS ARE TROLLS - Did you want to ask a question to the moderators about the state of this forum? If so, you could have easily done this through backchannel means. But no... You choose a thread title designed specifically to solicit input from the moderators, invoking them by name. You carp about state of the forum and blithely ask, "What happened?". Like what? Why in the earth would be asking a moderator about the state of the forum? In public?

You're trolling and doing it clumsily.

I was hoping I was the drummer but don't recall complaining about Scouts. I'll take the "fart guy" if it's still open... I don't drink much and haven't been considered a youngster for a while now. But you may be referring back further than my membership start date.

How's my friend, Mick?! I miss your posts and vids, buddy... but not the chaos that often followed in their wake... lol.

Chaos is exactly what he's looking for. It gives him that little rush of delicious indignation when he sits at the keyboard.

Carpeater, here's your second 'net clue.

THE NET REMEMBERS NOONE (EXCEPT MIKE VANDEMAN) - Whatever you wrote back in the day, was back in the day. Whatever the forum was, back then, was back then. Nobody cares that you used to be one of the cool kids. Nobody cares that you're on a first name basis with the moderators. Nobody cares that you've posted YouTube videos (on eating carp, much less).

Seriously, what were you looking for with this pathetic, lame thread? Ooohs and aahs of respect? Polite golf claps from the gallery? Respect? Feh!

SIGNAL TO NOISE STILL MATTERS - You want respect? Respect today? Create signal. Add content. This thread currently is about one thing and one thing only. You. And in all honesty, it's a boring topic. You want the forum to be better, post some signal that's on topic, mate.

After watching several of your videos, I would whole-heartedly support your line of questioning.

Instead, you should just stick to the tired horse you keep flogging about "internet experts." Now there is some shocking and revalatory info. Up unitl you started including this salient tidbit in every single one of your posts, I just assumed that if it was on the internet, it must be true.

Smithhammer gets it.

Alrighty then...

I agree that this thread was on a collision course with disaster from the get-go. There is a sticky thread at the top of the WSS section to let off steam/chat in a civil manner. If you want to discuss the current state of the outdoor subforums in that venue, have at it... just remember the "keep it clean" part.

Thread closed.
