Show and Tell. How about some pictures of your gear bags and what you've got in them. They can be your EDC or your outdoor kit.

Looking for some ideas for building mine out.

Thanks!

I've got a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipak that I use for Scouting hikes and camps. It can carry a water bottle, RC-3, first aid kit, binoculars, a few eats, and still have extra room. It's great for my uses.

I carry a Maxpedition pygmy Falcon everyday with me. It is a great pack, I attach an RC-5 on the side of it. I carry some basic equiptment like a SAK and firesteel also.

I too use a Maxpedition Jumbo usually for outdoors (short hike type stuff), and I think I'm getting a Blackhawk Enhanced Battle Bag for EDC here real soon. Just double checking my other options currently to make sure it is what I want.

Move to a backpack for anything longer though.

I've been looking for a good gear bag. It looks like Maxpedition is the way to go. Thanks for all the info...

That's an interesting bag with some interesting features. If you want to save some money and still get a really good bag, perhaps spend the difference on something else, check out the Generation Five Bail Out Bag from CountyComm. I have the XL and have the regular size coming. They are very inexpensive and built really good. If I need stuff with MOLLE all over it, I go to the Maxpedition PFII or Malaga Gearslinger. For carrying stuff around work and the pooblic, the Bail Out Bags are quite nice.

Don,I picked up one of those Bail out Bags Standard OD Green of course as well as the EOD bag OD Green & Diplomat pocket organizer OD Green & SAT-Com bag in black....

i usually go with civilian style bags (or as close as I can get to looking like it without sacrificing utility and durability) for emergency gear or a bug out bag.

should some disaster happen on katrina like proportions I don't want to be running around looking like i am part of a militia. if the authorities start confiscating firearms and such, i would rather look like i conscripted the hiking equipment from the garage and I am only carrying trail-mix and space blankets and not the few extra goodies I would be inclined to have with me.

Tony,

And how do you like all of their stuff? I think their construction is excellent, especially when you consider the price.
