Gear Bags

Not much of a wilderness over here in the UK but on my wooldland walks I usually carry my kit in an old claymore pouch - one pockets fits a 1lt British army style water bottle and a packaway water proof jacket and the other a maxp organizer (see I can spell like you lot :) ) with all my fire, food, navigation, and water collection/purification kit and still have enough room for my mess tin cook kit.

My SAK sits in my pocket (its my EDC) and my Izula round my neck

Every day to work, I carry a maxpedition colossus, with a Janus pocket strapped to one side and my klean kanteen strapped to the other (with shock cord, drink half a gallon of water a day at work and prefer to not use plastic cups). In the Janus are my sunglasses in a hard case.

In the bag itself I usually a small first aid kit, light, screwdriver, sony psp + earphones, moleskine + pens, various bits and pieces. Not a lot of use for wilderness stuff in this city =(

Used to have a cheap maxpedition fat boy clone, just not enough room.

You warm my heart, another Moleskine owner/user. What city you in, if you don't mind me asking?

SnakeDoc,

Nice bag. I'm going to have to check into that one.

Snapped a few quick pics at lunch. Please excuse the blurry pics. (time for a new camera)
Some items are missing?? :thumbdn: I am glad I took the time to take some pics today, good op for restock.

I'd like to compliment the patch you have on that bag.

Bringing our brothers ... and sisters ... home. That means a lot to old vets.

I assume you mean DC? ;) Philly is pretty absurd too, no knife carry ever, for any reason, even bringing it home from the shop could technically get you arrested.

I always refer to Maryland, in general, as "Absurdistan" and Annapolis as "Scam-da-navia." D.C.? "The Logic Free Zone."

So, let me get this right...in The City of Brotherly Love, where my beautiful Liberty Bell resides...people can't carry a pocketknife?

Figures.

Baltimore is called, "Charm City." It's about as charming as a good, hot dose of the clap. So...don't feel too bad. :)

Nowhere is crazier than New York City -- a utility knife clipped into your pocket is a misdemeanor. And if you have loosened the pivot screw to lighten up the action on a folder it becomes a gravity knife and now you're up for a felony. Don't even consider a fixed open carry.

Yeah, only been to Baltimore once, it looked really dirty and run down, it was not what I was lead to believe. But I've only been living in the states for a little over a year, I'm from "Scan-di-navia", so am kind of used to the draconian knife laws ;) But enough hijacking of this thread..
