Gear Pods Modular Survival System (Photo Heavy)

great review. looks like a great thing to have ina bug-out bag. how easy is it to repack? im just wondering if everythin is stowed away easily or is this more of a break glass in case of emergency deal

Thank you. It actually goes back together pretty easily. The hardest one is getting the shelter rolled up right, but I've had it all apart a few times and back together. It's back together now on my pack.

Nifty kit Brian. Thanks for taking the time, I will check them out now for sure. Btw, is that a Maxpedition Sitka you were using? I was just asking about those....

They are definitely worth taking a look. Yeah that's a Sitka I got almost two years ago. I really like it.

Very cool review......thanks much. What's the weight of all your components combined?

I have no idea, I'd have to get it weighed.

Man, I love this place! I learn about so many neat things, that I would never find out about on my own. Thanks for all of the great information.

great review as always mist. thanks

for the person asking about the weight on there site it lists it as 1.8 lbs (28.8 ounces)

it looks like a very well thought out comprehensive survival kit that you can just throw in a bob or camping pack and go. add in some celox or a tourniquet for serious cut and you got most all of it covered i would say.

Their kits are really well thought out and use some pretty good quality components. I have been buddies with the owner since he started the company and he has constantly been improving the products, refining the kits, and listening to customer feedback.

I personally took some empty pods and built my own kit, but that is because I like to tinker. I will sit in front of the TV at night and swap components in and out. A lot of my parts did come from a premade Wilderness kit though, since like Mist said, buying the kit is a heck of a lot cheaper than sourcing the components.

I have a large Pod that always goes with me, and a few other pods that have specialized kits like a more comprehensive first aid kit, a fire kit, and some other stuff. I love the modularity. It seems like a small feature, but being able to open both ends of a pod is amazing. That feature really allows a lot of flexiblity in packing your kit and you never have to dig through to find anything since you can make sure every item is accessible from one end or the other.

Thanks for the input. I can still remember a time when I would have had a blast putting together different kits from these tubes. Lately I've just been to busy to take the time. Figured this was as good a start as I have seen yet. I've added one smaller container for added supplies and may add another.

Wow, a silnylon tarp in a premade survival kit. That's just downright nice. :)

Definitely a nice touch.
