GEC 15: one blade or two?

I like carrying a knife with 2 blades. It gives me options of having a dirty and a clean blade. I do like a single blade knife but usually for specific tasks, dirty or clean. If only one blade then I'm usually carrying a second knife too (plus the Vic Manager on the keys).

I'm a one blade guy for all my traditionals if I can find them. Don't really need more than one blade for the stuff I do. But for those models where the one blade is unavailable or sold out, I'd settle for a 2 blader.

I think it depends on which blade configuration you choose.
You could also shoot for a secondary tool instead of blade (bottle opener or awl).
With a sheepsfoot main, I'd pick a two bladed version and pen secondary.
With a spear main, I'd go for the single bladed version.

As my habit of always picking 2 blades when I have the option of 1; I also pick the two biggest blades that frame offers. I am a fan of Spey blades as well (There's a lot of cats in my neighborhood). I was thinking the GEC 15 Farmboy's knife in Ebony: http://www.knivesshipfree.com/great-eastern-cutlery-tidioute-15-farmboys-knife-gabon-ebony/

I really don't think you can go wrong with this knife, especially given how unobtrusively the full-sized spey blade fits into the handle in front of the clip. While the spey is technically the knife's main blade, I consider this a clip blade knife with a full spey bonus. :)

Bareheaded ebony is also my favorite type of cover on the #15s....

I have a one blade and then a Crown Lifter (as thick as a two-blade). I usually will only get two-blades if the blade configuration gives me a benefit for having a second blade. For the current run of 15s with a clip blade, I personally don't think a pen blade adds much, so my preference with these is the one-blade. Generally, I like the one-blade for this knife better just because the thinness of the knife really works with just one blade, and I find the added girth isn't as attractive. But that's just my opinion, of course. :)

 This is the way I feel too. I hate sharpening the tiny pen blades, they seem useless when you have a large blade at your disposal. Just my 2 cents.

I have 2 of each as I really like both Knives and could not make up my mind and the Shop I go to had two each so I just took all four of them ~~ now I am double happy.!** When you can't make up your mind ~~ buy them all ~~ you only live once and sure as heck can come back in a hundred years and make a choice....!

I also find the single blade, smaller frame knives tend to roll in my hand. The second blade, crown lifter on my #15, adds some welcome width. The single blade knives (#92) does fit easier in watch pocket and sits well in bottom of the pocket but for me is not as important as an extra blade.
