I don't own any traditionals, so I was thinking of picking up a GEC 21. I was wondering what people thought of them and if there any good action pics to be shared.

If you don't recommend the 21, let me know another one that you think would be a good starter GEC. Thanks!

The 21 is a BIG knife. The 71 is it's little brother. A #15 Boys Knife in any Configuration would be a great starter.

Have you owned any of them? I've heard a lot about the 15 (I'm assuming it may be one of the top 3 models they have), but I will certainly look at the 71, so thanks for the tip!

I've owned at least on of every knife pattern GEC has made since 2009.

RMA100 is a dealer.

Should be a perfect edc. Light, single spring. 01 steel!
I regularly carry two bladed 23's, and grandad barlows, so the 21 looks great!

Idk all their pattern #'s, but the 15 I have is one of
my favorite knives ever. Seems to be the perfect traditional
to me, in size, function, and aesthetics.

The 21s I saw were 1095. I'd love to see the 01 versions. I'd also like to get a 71. I think this could get addictive.

Would anyone be willing to PM me a few of their favorite vendors for GEC? I have all of my bookmarks for my typical styles, but not for traditionals/GEC. Thanks again for the help.

I just got a #21 from rma100 (super fast shipping, great service). It's awesome. I also would have preferred o1, as I thought that's what they'd be, but oh well 1095 works. I'll post a picture here and in the GEC talk thread in a couple minutes.

While I don't have a #21 I do have a 71 and it is one of my favorite knives by far. It is just the right size for EDC. It is big enough to handle almost any job I have needed a knife for while not being obtrusive in my pocket. From the looks of your avatar picture I'm assuming you carry more modern knives typically, in which case the large size of the 21 might be more your speed. Either way you can't go wrong.

I prefer modern folders and fixed blades (the avatar pic is of a Becker BK16), but I think I'd like the additional length of the 21 so long as knife doesn't feel insanely large in the pocket.

All of the other Farm and Field Knives have been O1 Tool Steel. For a reason known only to Bill Howard and maybe Knifeswapper, these 21 Bull Busters have 1095 Carbon Steel Blades.

It shows on the cover page that OD canvas #21s are next but on the production schedule it doesn't show canvas micarta as a cover option. Anyone have any insight on this? Is natural canvas in the works too?

It seems that they did not have enough OD Green Linen Micarta to finish the run. So some of the knives will be in OD Green Canvas Micarta. As far as I know, no natural micarta of either type is planned.
