GEC #35 vs Victorinox Cadet

The Alox Cadet doesn't have a nail file or tweezers, which are my most used tools on my mini swiss classic. Does anyone know if any of the Cadet sized SAKs have a nail file?

SAKWiki has every Victorinox and Wenger model categorized. Robert Lessard on Instagram is one of the best sites for pics of modded SAKs.

I went to the knife store specifically to look at and probably buy an alox Cadet. I walked out with the Small Tinker. Oh Well. After sitting for a couple months, I started carrying it and have carried it pretty much every day since. I do like having the small blade (just in case) even though it seldom gets used. I just got the Vic Nail Clipper knife in the last week and pretty impressed with it. It is going to reside in my pickup where I tend to notice my finger nails. Generally I am not a big fan of the 58mm sized SAKs (classic size), but I like this one. I doubt I will use the little blade (since I have the Small Tinker in my pocket anyway), but it's there should the need arise.

So, maybe I need to take another look at the very popular Cadet.

I just measured my Vic clipper knife and it's 65mm vs 58mm. Learn something everyday! @Piso Mojado mentioned this in another thread and I wanted to set the record straight on this particular model. Apparently 65mm is the Wenger size.

Take another look at the second picture, post #1. Black Alox Cadet with a nail file clearly shown.

The standard Cadet with Celidor covers has both nail file and tweezers.
None of the Alox models have the tweezers or toothpick.

GEC #35 or Cadet to carry?
Neither.
I don't have a #35, or a Cadet.

I like the Recruit and Huntsman more than the Cadet. I use the punch/awl a lot more than a nail file. (which my SAK Signature has. I don't recall using the nail file in the 10 years or so that the Signature has been on my key ring.)

A 4 blade scout/camp/Demo knife, or a SAK Recruit (I "need" to get another some day ... I gave the one I had to my nephew) or SAK Huntsman has been a required part of my EDC since 1960. (EDC Duo 1965 or 1966 when I added a stockman, and EDC Trio since 1968, when I added a Buck 110 on my belt)

Back then the teachers, principal, school board ... took it for granted that by the first or second grade, all the boys had at least one pocket knife in their pocket, and at least 90% of the girls had one in their pocket (on the rare instances they wore pants or shorts. Dresses and skirts were the normal wear for girls in that era.) and/or purse.

Somewhat related:
The teachers, principal, school board, law enforcement, etc. took it for granted that the students in high school who hunted would have a shotgun (deer, water fowl, upland game) and/or bow (deer) and/or .22 rifle (squirrel, rabbit) in the back window of their pickup or SUV, in their van, or trunk of their car, depending on what they drove.
No one thought anything of it. No one shot or shot at anyone, and no one so much as pulled their knife on anyone.
The schools were not fenced, didn't have armed security guards, metal detectors, and all the entry doors were unlocked. We even had "Open Campus" when I was in High School (Class of 1974). We could come and go as we pleased.

That's why I don't by the better looking alox models. I like the waiter and the camper.
