The Tidioute version I have is slightly longer than the Canal St. 9.7cm to 9.5cm closed. The Canal has broader handle but a very slightly narrower blade oddly enough, the scales are not as thick as the GEC and it feels like it weighs less probably due to its stainless liners, its pins are also stainless unlike the Tidioute.
An important difference from my perspective is the half-stop on the Tidioute, the Canal is devoid of this and is better for it. However, the Tidioute has an excellently positioned nail nick which offsets the rather tough spring. Obviously, its steel being high level stainless gives the Canal St different characteristics from the carbon GEC. Both knives feel good, very comfortable in the hand, fine slicers and unobtrusive in the pocket.
