The "bark" is the outside surface of the mammoth tusk, which usually has the most interesting features. The interior is usually much plainer.What do you mean the bark,what are the handles on that beautiful specimen.

I think they are covered in epoxy (?) and they are highly polished.Is there some sort of polish or finish on these? Or is it just the camerawork that gives it a sheen?
