GEC #54 scary looking?

Nice collection, rock on. A pictures worth a...Found a thread where black mamba had a photo of a 48 and 54 right next to each other. While the 54 is slightly bigger, seem almost as pocket and people friendly. Guess the talk about how beastly the 54's were had an effect :p.

Rockon75 Great looking T.K. I think that's the one I traded Blademan13 a few months back. If both covers were the same in color stag I would have kept it, and looking at how you made it an honest knife with patina and all makes me miss it. Enjoy that knife i think I'll be on the lookout for another in the future. I love the thinness, I just really have a thing for half stops. If memory hold true the clip point on the T.K. was thinner than the 54 so it's probably a great slicer. It'd be great to see a 54 T.K. or a single clip 54.

Back on the subject I mainly carry my 54BJ burnt stag for EDC. It is a big knife but not as big as large as the 23 or 21. The 54 nicely fills the hand without extra handle exposed. I cut apples for the kids and i, cut steaks, breast out pheasants and duck, carve pumpkins, you name it. No one has had a bad reaction. Actually this past Saturday I used it to cut a my steak and after a couple of jokes from friends and family, people wanted to try it on their steaks. They enjoyed the sharpness of it over their serrated steaks knives.

In terms of pocket, I carry mine in my watch pocket. I noticed that jeans vary greatly in this sizing. American Eagle jeans will cover the entire blade in the watch pocket. In smaller jeans it falls at a 45 degree from bottom corner pocket to top corner pocket. I have carried it in the Mudbug leather belt holster and like it as well.

Bearbug, the jigged bone TK-I gave an honest patina too, the stag tk was just recieced, kudos go to blademan13 for that guy. I like the TKs, I have a couple Tidioutes as well. They r gr8.

Generally, people take notice when they see any big tactical knife whipped out in public.
People don't give two squats when you have a SAK, Multitool or any other traditional looking knife

When I was employed in an office,I carried what I did in the field.I had a Buck 560 in a custom leather belt sheath.I was called in the office & told someone complained I was carrying a weapon... I was "asked" to no longer carry my Buck!

Being a fan of cam tangs over half-stops, I prefer the #53 to the #54, but they are in no way too large to carry right up in a front pocket. With jeans, I even like to put it in the watch pocket, as it is too long to twist down sideways, and only sticks out the top about a bolsters worth.

PS- Has there ever been a better sheepfoot than on these Cubans? Just look at that sharp but stout point!
