Has anyone tried one of these out? The blade configuration has me intrigued. It looks useful.

I would also like to know how this pattern strikes the rest of the forumites.
The #57 Wrangler with stag is next on my list.
I'd probably prefer a wharnie in place of the spey, but no big deal.

I don't have one but it seems the 57 pattern in general gets very little love on this forum. I like my 57's FWIW.

I certainly like my Geppetto whittler, though I haven't handled the Wrangler version.

Well, my intrigue got the better of me. I picked up a wrangler and put it to use. My initial impressions (and a few lousy photos):

I really like this knife--solid quality, built like a tank. That being said, this knife might not be for everyone. I will be the first to admit that the shape is kind of weird. It is very stocky--almost stubby. That being said, it fits my hand perfectly.

The clip blade is meaty, just a hair shorter than the clip on my conductor, but much thicker. The spey is nice and thin with a well rounded tip (I'm a spey blade fan). The punch is ideal, useful and unobtrusive.

Construction on this one is what you'd expect from GEC. The scales are something else. I've never had a stag knife--the bark they fitted to this example may ruin me forever. They are absolutely gorgeous! And not much thicker than I would expect on a bone handled knife.

All in all, a very attractive and well built knife that went immediately to my pocket, and as you can see, is already developing a patina.

A little chunk of a knife that still rides unnoticed in the pocket and fills my hand like it was made for me.

Now, those lousy photos:

Those scales are amazing. Looks like a great knife. Having the punch is always a great little addition. The patina looks great, keep it up :)

I like it, "Sleeveboard meets Serpentine" It's on the short list....

I like both the the 57 Wrangler and Whittler patterns; they look to be very useful and handsome pattern! Their new mahogany bone looks soo good as well!

I really liked the one I got to play with at a gun show.
I definitely would go for one and give it a go as an EDC, we'll see how things go though.

Great knife, beautiful stag.
