SOLD
This gorgeous and hard-to-find #72 Tidioute lockback is in “NEW” condition. It has never been carried, used, or sharpened: maintained in its original tube package with a light coat of oil and has developed no patina. There are no signs of wear, damage, or defect anywhere. Flawless bolster/cover transitions. Perfect “walk and talk”. Pull is about an 6-7 which I consider to be about perfect. It can easily be pinched open. Perfectly centered blade. No spring gaps.
It’s been a long time since I’ve see a lockback wharncliffe sold/traded here or auctioned on the “bay”. The only one I’ve seen in a while was a 2011 spear-point sold on eBay in September. It was damaged, sold as “used” and brought $232.50.
Only 175 #72 patterns were produced in the 2013 run. 78 of those were Wharncliffes and only 40 in Autumn Gold Jig Bone.
