GEC Ben Hogan group shot

Eh, GEC will put whatever number you want on them if you ask nicely...

No really, yes, they all have the same serial number. Serial number 02 is the lowest number you can usually get from GEC because sn01 is kept for their collection.

I did make it a point this year to buy sn02 knives and key protos. I mainly just got lucky by keeping track of the releases and jumping on 02 knives when they came up for sale. In a couple of cases I asked a dealer if he had sn02 and he did.

I am missing the beaver tail, red wine and yellow rose, and the others didn't have serial numbers (sea shell, snakewood). They may still be available, but I am not chasing them. I'm not crazy, you know! :) (at least that is what my multiple personalities tell me.)

lol, thanks for the reply, as Dennis stated, what a great feat to get those lovely knives with the matching serial numbers as well

maxx the crimson fish is the latest toenail but in nickel silver . i have 2 or 3 that came earlier in steel bolsters. what this means i ca'nt fanthom. which direction gec will take i do'nt know maybe they'll make toes 2 different ways. --dennis

The ebony is to die for. Great looking knives and they look to be very comfy in hand. How pocket friendly are they compared to a muskrat or something similar?

What is GEC's Ebony like? Is it varied in colour with streaking and lighter hues? Nothing wrong with this, but after getting the last Forum Knife I've been spolied for jet-black ebony:D

I can't say that it is jet black, but the Ben Hogan I have is distinctly blacker than previous GEC ebonys I have seen, which have the lighter streaks in them.
