Would the SFO by Charlie Campagna, GEC #981316 'Big Cattle' Cranberry Jig Bone be a low production knife and a solid collectible down the road so to speak? Thanks

The numbers will be fairly low for that handle material, maybe 30-50 of them. You can always call GEC for confirmation on the numbers or ask Charlie himself. He goes by "Waynorth" on the forum. As far as being collectible...not sure what you're looking for. If you collect cattle knives, then yes, it could be collectible. If you're simply looking to purchase hoping that it increases in value, don't bet on it. No one knows what will increase in value down the road until it happens and that's due to many unforeseen factors.

All of Waynorth's SFO's are limited production. If something sells really well and most do, he will often do another SFO of the same pattern with slightly different blades and scales. His barlows are a good example. I don't go into any knife thinking it will be worth a lot of money or double in value quickly. For dealers, it is all about selling the merchandise and the quicker the better. If you are interested in one of his SFO's, I'd buy quickly as they sell out.

"Collect" because you like the knife.

I suppose rarer than a high run. That's about all one can guarantee. Value, collectability, etc are a roll of the dice.
