Gec bullnose or case carbon fiber

OT- Will Case offer a Lrg CF Sodbuster?

I thought that the CF Case was in stainless though.

Probably is, but, since CV holds an edge slightly better than Tru-Sharp, If the 1095 and O1 hold an edge better than CV, they will hold an edge better than Tru-Sharp.

Frank,
I know this is unscientific, but... O1 is a much better steel than the Case SS
Do we have to prove it?

Frank, I don't make it out of the Traditional forum often. I just looked up and read the following for the first time...

I was wondering how you would quantify differences in performance.... hadn't thought of edge damage. I suppose if you measured the pressure required to make a cut, that would also depend on the thickness of the blade. It's interesting that the 440C did so well since a lot of folks seem to prefer 1095. Neat.

Frank can this logic trump data?

I don't have the most experience.

I have bought a handful of GEC. I have been tickled to death with each and every single one.

I have yet to like a modern case enough to buy it. I have only looked at the case the local store. Every single one had issues that would bug me. That is not a huge sample, I admit, but in a display with a triple handful of knives, all had issues.

As to the dealer that said GEC is garbage.......That was spoken from a position of absolute ignorance. Reminds me of a guy at the gun store. He was seriously trying to sell a 4 inch .44 mag to a tiny old grandma who said she was looking for an easy to manage home defense gun with out to much recoil.

Now that August is going to be Sodbuster month I'm gonna have to take another look at the Case. I really like CF and Case's SS is OK by me. The only thing I don't like about it is the price.

I have been giving mine a work out this week and I have to say it is a well built knife. The halfstops, thick derlin and liners set it apart from the case sodbuster. For Factory made knives Gec is doing it right hope they dont change nothing. The only thing not convincing me to get the case carbon fiber is the price all your paying for is the handle the rest is same as their 15 dollar sodbusters
