GEC Cap Lifter Models?

Asking around for help with the GEC's back catalog. Which models have the cap lifter?

Looking to find a special gift for my father. Forever ago he spent years working in the building now occupied by Great Eastern Cutlery. I believe every man needs a good knife, and a knife with a story out of the "tube" is even better.

Couple models I have seen (forgive my lack of #s for reference):
Beer Scout
Radio Jack #15
Beer and Sausage
Beerlow #25

One day soon I plan to pick one something off the Exchange. Just want to bolster my knowledge on the models and how examples are placed in the market. Any heads-up on rarity/difficulty to find could be helpful too.

Thanks in advance.

The 85 CapLifter

The 71 SudBuster

The 35 Johnny On The Spot

There was also the 15 Crown Lifter that was basically a Beer Scout but without the lanyard tube/bail. And also a version just like the Beer Scout but that just had "Scout" on the shield.

And the 152214 Boy's Knife with a cap lifter

This is great. Thanks so much for chiming in. I see there is a lot of enthusiasm for what seems like a simple feature.

I also am getting the impression my idea to acquire a cap-lifter model may be harder than I hoped. Harder = more skin into the game; be it money or trade.

From what any of you have seem, do these models ask a premium when they do come up on the Exchange?

im the wrong person to ask, i had the caplifter removed from my 85. well for that matter, i tend to get a lot of the secondary blades deleted. However, considering we are almost 2 years out from that models release, you might do ok with the recent beerlow 25s.

Thanks for your insights.

As much as I love the easy way to do things in life, the 25 does not seem like a pattern I can work with. The two for one blade is polarizing, and it hits me on the negative side. 🤷‍♂️

Some 35 patterns have a caplifter as well. Johnny on the spot from last year comes to mind.

In my opinion, the 'premium' on GEC models is usually a function of:
- rarity: how many were produced total
- time since production: older releases are harder to find (of course)
- desirability: subjective popularity of a knife based on model, covers, features, etc

Taking the #25 beerlow out of consideration, remaining options tick all the boxes of desirability, rarity, and time out of production. The Beer Scout and Radio Jack are probably the most popular of those listed, being on the ever-loved #15 frame. They came out 6 years ago for the Beer Scout, 2014 for the Radio Jack maybe?

On a different tier perhaps are the #35 beer and sausage knives (the #35 also being a popular frame). They came out not too long ago, but it was a pretty popular pattern because of how weird it was (the comb and fork/caplifter combo) so it seems like all the people who have them want to keep them.

Further down the arbitrary tier list, like others have mentioned, the #35 Johnny on the Spot from 2022 came with a caplifter and might be a bit easier to get. At the time, the TexDel/Delrin was a bit polarizing as was the bicycle-allen-wrench-tool-thing. It also was slightly overshadowed at the time by being released with the #35 Cattle Knife. The #65 Fish Keeper was also less beloved as it's on a larger #65 frame and only came in acrylic so that might be a bit easier to find too.

I have less familiarity with the Crown Lifter as the #85 teardrop pattern didn't grab me the same way the #35 did.
