GEC Cap Lifter Models?

This is great. Thanks so much for chiming in. I see there is a lot of enthusiasm for what seems like a simple feature.

I also am getting the impression my idea to acquire a cap-lifter model may be harder than I hoped. Harder = more skin into the game; be it money or trade.

From what any of you have seem, do these models ask a premium when they do come up on the Exchange?

Not really answering your question, but wanted to throw out some pictures and mention what is likely the highest premium lifter.

Charred Oak Beer Barrel 15. I don't recall if any other lifters are serialized, I don't think so. I think they made 150 ish or so. Came with coin stamped BS from the barrel band. I thought it had the matching knife serial number on the coin, but might be wrong about that.

I handled that knife this past weekend. A special knife for sure.

I had charred oak #31 and got it when I was 31 years old. Had to sell it due to my divorce, and have missed it ever since. Such an amazing knife!

Great collection, Mark!

Here's a Beer Barrel, and a Crown Lifter!!Beer and Cap 1.jpg

Here are a couple more, Mark - a burnt Oak Beer Barrel, and a Soup Bone Rendezvous!!!View attachment 2135427
Thanks for this shot Charlie! The Rendezvous Beerlow is a true grail…do you recall how many were made? I’m fortunate to own another grail from the 2015 Rendezvous (I was not there, I bought from original owner long ago)…the spearpoint Beer Scout, 10 total, only 3 in blood red saw cut bone. Uses same blade as in your Diamond Radio Jack, it is even stamped 2014…a true parts knife.FCBA4457-261B-4E6A-A175-2B54F717C7A4.jpeg

I only remember it was a small number, Mark!! I hid most of them away at the Rendezvous, in fear there would be a riot!! Sold most later, on line!! Cheap in hindsight!!!

So of my GECs, I only have 15-framed knives with cap lifters…here are three of my favorites: Rendezvous Beer Scout, a parts knife from 2015 Rendezvous; Diamond Radio Jack, a SFO of Charlie Campagna’s: and “Soda Scout” (not official name but the commonly used term), a SFO of Mike Latham’s, all in shades of blood red:

Wow. These are great examples. Rethinking my approach to owning or acquiring one of these models, I will likely watch and wait for a new run far off on the horizon.

An option is to try and find one of these Case mini trappers with lifter, they are a fine knife for much less money (they are not currently in production but they do pop up from time to time, might even be a big Case dealer out there with one or two still in stock).D3EF0011-E560-48C4-8BD2-06F65E023E53.jpeg
