I was all set to purchase a Calf Roper when I ran across the Rancher. Do they still make it? or has it been dis-continued? This is just the knife I'm looking for and I found a couple of them but none in stag which is my number one option.

I think they only did one run of them. I suspect they will do another run but it's hard telling if or when.

They did do a second run of Calf Ropers so that's a good sign.

Is the "cattle rancher" the 3-blade 53 pattern? If so you might want to check the dealer website links on the GEC webpage. There are atleast 7 available with stag covers. There are also a couple 4-blades with stag covers. They are pricey.

I had thought i checked all of them and found nothing. Would you mind leaving me a message as to where you saw one?

I haven't seen a stag Cattle Rancher, which is their heavy duty style stockman available in quite a while. I wonder if supra isn't thinking of the other 3-blade stockman with the slim muskrat clip blade. Both models are on the 53 frame.

big, you're right. It wasn't want he wanted. I guess the one with the slimmer blade is the "Cuban stockman"?? (not sure)

Yep, you're right big that is what I am looking for. Thanks a lot for the help Jake, it's appreciated!

I'm looking for that same GEC in Ebony - can anybody point me in the right direction?

The '10 records don't show any ebony cattle ranchers being made (#531310). There are cuban stockmen, #538311 with muskrat clip around though.

Looking at a GEC Muskrat with a Muskrat Clip on one end and Wharncliffe on the other. Did some research on the GEC website and realized that what I want may not exist - a "large" (>4") Stockman in ebony with 1095 blades, and rounded bolsters (to reduce pocket wear). Looked at a few other on-line resources and just don't see what I think I'm looking for. The addition of the large Wharncliff is a plus for me on this GEC pattern. I'm not big on the traditional Muskrat with two identical clips. I could give up the Stockman "small" spear point to get that larger Wharncliffe.
