Love it.

Thanks for putting this together JTB_5 JTB_5 . Give the people the information and allow them to decide who they want to buy from. I think it's a bit humorous that the dealers that are gouging delete their prices as soon as the knives sale out, while the dealers who aren't gouging, tend to leave the price posted along with the "sold out" banner. That's a pretty big hint (imo) that the gouging dealers know without a doubt that what they are doing is shady and scummy.

I don't doubt what you say. At the same time, 99.999%* of individual sellers on this forum do the same thing in the The Knife Exchange.

* A guess, but probably close.

I don't like that practice, either. Although, I will say that I leave my "asked for" prices in my threads even when the knife sometimes sells for a lower price through a PM. So even when the prices are listed, there is sometimes a hidden difference.

Why don't you also add the "sold for" price to you post? Pricing transparency is what you are promoting, right?

I didn't mean to call you out, your intentions are good. I retrospect, I should have messaged you directly.

No need to apologize. I'm the one who made mention of it, and I can see the inconsistency. One of the virtues missing in our society today is our refusal to admit when we're wrong about something, whether in public or private--to really admit, and then turn around and do the right thing. I appreciate the accountability that open debate and discussion brings; I welcome it, and I want it to be an aid to keeping my own integrity--none of us get it right all the time, and so thanks for being a part of that prompt to be more consistent with good principles!

At least one of the sellers listed - Blue Ridge Knives - is a wholesale distributor. Has anyone who's not a dealer ever bought from them?

TSA Released some 85s yesterday, but I don't see any pricing on their website (they take down knives that have sold). Anyone have a price on them? Also, moving forward, if you have an invoice or email screen shot that you can use to verify the price, I'd appreciate it. I want to take folks at their word, but it will satisfy the skeptics and keep things above board to provide evidence when it isn't kept on the dealers's websites.

I think there are enough people on here that check prices if someone was to try to bamboozle us, they would catch it for sure. Too many of the regular forum guys and gals here that are way too smart to let that get by. But, I get where you are coming from and good to be on the cautious side.

On an additional note, folks who wish to share prices but don't want to make a big deal about it can send me the information by PM. Again, the whole purpose here is to provide information, not to bash dealers, or spot deals.

GPK dropped micarta today I paid $145 shipped with no out of state sales tax. Earlier I purchased one from DLT for the price listed above with shipping but they charged me California sales tax which added $8.68 to the total. Still better than fleaBay. :)

First Ebay distributor store price is up: $280. I saw an auction today go for $261.

I can’t remember which dealer it is but element.x on EBay has a dead skunk listed at $259
