So I was just at my local shop and was talking to Andrew(works there) about GEC knives. He mentioned to me that his shop had a GEC SFO made back in 2011. He said he still had about 40 of them sitting around the shop in a couple boxes. Since the scales are made of Burnt India Stag he let me look at all of them and pick the one I wanted. Very awesome and a lot of fun. The blades are 440C, Brass liners, bail, and great dog paw shield.

Also, he had a SFO Dog Paw keychain knife with a tube popper on the back...awesome as well. Had a few of these left.

Below are pics.

I love the gray color on the one I picked out. Almost has colors of deep blue and purple. So many variations, light, dark, thick, slim, deep stag grooves, flat. All different types yet all the same material. Very cool find.

Enjoy!

Oh my... I've gotta admit, as a dog lover, these dog paw knives have really been appealing to me, and this older SFO is very beautiful. I love the story on the tube, cool that they got some matching Sebbies :D

It always pays to chat people up and talk knives... never know what they'll have in the back. Congrats on the score :)

Absolutely! I love this knife. It's a really nice carry size.

Out on a late one, he has me trained well lol

Thank you Aus, I got very lucky to rescue this guy. My best friend and every day companion. I think I see a paw knife in my near future for sure now :)

That's great that you found him as a rescue. Always glad to hear that from people.

I believe the name "Cody Retriever" was named in honor of a friend's dog that had passed.

You didn't need to post this, at least until I'd saved up enough to get one :D I'm kidding of course. Those are great knives, both styles of GEC. Too, too many knives and not nearly enough money. Common complaint right? It's nice to see some photos of those in the wild, they actually look even better than I originally thought. Cheers!
Thanks, Neal

I posted these before, but for those of you on the fence about this knife, hope this helps.

I'm smilin' like your K9 seeing these pics. It wasn't until my 30's that I realized why K9's are man's best friend.

I love this knife, however, other than it being K9 themed, it's just not my style of knife. Despite me saying that, if they were a little better priced, I probably would. I'm already beyond superfluous with my pocket knives; and I chose to be practical with my favorite theme and mammal - K9s.

AusLox, could you please PM me at your leisure the info? Thanks for your time and sharing.

Looks great Alan! Where did you get that cool chain? I really like the look of that combo

I need to clean mine up a bit when I get home. Very nice. Love the chain too

I forgot to mention. No half stop on these little guys. I have a lot of knives with half stop and a few without. It's kinda cool to have this one without the half stop. Makes it a smooth opening and no snap at the half way point. I prefer that on smaller knives.

Been looking at these for several years. Pulled the trigger about 6 months ago. Great knife.....and I'm not really a bail guy. We have rescued two Bassets and one Corgi...with an older Corgi (9 YO) a surrender on the way.....some people can be so cruel.
