GEC Dog Paw 33 and GEC Keychain/Tube Popper Knife

AusLox, the chain is from a novelty pocket watch, but if you Google "pocket watch chain" you'll find them. I've also recently seen them in a local hardware store with a keychain display.

Great! Thanks Alan!

And Peter that's great to hear about the rescue. That sits close with me. Thanks for that.

Peter I love those pics and big floppy ears :D What handle material is yours?

Rescue dogs are always allowed on the couch :)

Thx Austin, it is brown jigged bone, but with a little worm action...really do like it. Looking for an appropriate lanyard for it.

PMs are a perk that come with paid memberships.

Yah that was me-you got a VM visitors message. It is where you need to look.

Really liking the shield on these, but otherwise gorgeous knife too. :)
Not so much fan of the blade etching though.

Thanks Neal.
And thanks Frank. The pm's from moderators had me confused for a moment!

I think you can remove the blade etch fairly easily. I'm sure some guys here could chime in on the best way to do that.

Great knife, great thread. :)

Very nice choice!

For some reason I thought these knives were long gone, but they recently came to my own attention again and I am grateful to have snagged one.

My Obvious Reason®:

This is an exquisitely appointed knife:

(factory grease on the blade, since wiped off)

I love the shield, and the tang stamp:

With its cousin, the #33 whittler:

Been looking at these for several years. Pulled the trigger about 6 months ago. Great knife.....and I'm not really a bail guy. We have rescued two Bassets and one Corgi...with an older Corgi (9 YO) a surrender on the way.....some people can be so cruel.
Good on ye.
And yeah... people. :grumpy: :(

The dogs:

Oh, man-- what a fantastic picture. (What a fantastic reality.)

Use it. :D

who likes the blade etch because of the pitter-patter of certain tiny feet evoked thereby.

Glad everyone is enjoying the thread [emoji106]
From last Christmas...the pup wasn't too excited about the headgear...the wife thinks she enjoys that stuff. I think it's obvious the pup isn't excited.

I love these dog paw knives,

I agree.... I have known the owners for many years as well as worked there in the past. They are not a sponsor of BF but they are a great company.

Also when they run out they are gone.... I don't think there will be any more runs of this Dog Paw model.

If it isn't a BF vendor, then leave the vendor out of it. That's a standard guideline around here.
Please maintain a steady focus on the knives themselves.

I agree that is the rule, but they are the only source for this SFO. If someone is interested picking one up, a close look at the info on the tube picture will help you find the company.

Focusing on the knife.... I really like mine. I also love that it does not have a half stop. The fit and finish is standard GEC.
