Jump on in with pictures of yours why doncha. How are yours holding up ??

I know the 99 Wall Street has shown that GEC fixed their vertical lockback issues. Since this is the same pattern, is the lockup nice and solid?
I love that micarta.

Yep. Well, pretty much. Back spring is smooth and flush, blade open or closed. In lockup, the blade is only barely (think half a fingernail thickness if that) below the spring at the transition. There is the very slightest of vertical blade play on lockup. I had to try REALLY hard to find it once you mentioned it. I hadn't noticed it at all. There are NO show stoppers or even the remotest disappoint here.

Great, thanks for the reply. I'd love to get one of these and put on some gnarly stag pants.

Bevel and grinds are very nice. Blade is not polished but very sharp. Blade tip could stand to be dressed a little.

The Farm & Field button pin is a nice little extra. I'd heard it was luck of the draw whether one was enclosed or not. Don't know how I'll use it yet, but nice little gesture.

Those who have those button pins, what do you do with them?

I agree on all points and really like mine also in maroon linen micarta. Here it is with it's same cover material Bull Buster brother.
Sorry for the poor lighting.

I got my #99 a few weeks ago and I honestly cant seem to put this knife down. It's the perfect little edc blade. Congrats on your new knife.

Thanks guys !!! ... still cleaning it up a bit and she gets nicer as I go along. I'd wanted a #71 Bullnose but couldn't find one anywhere right now and settled on the #99 to tide me over. Sure glad I did :)

BigBiscuit and Woodsman83, you look to have the same knot on the keeper. I LIKE it. What is the knot?

I used the hangmans knot made out of a leather boot laces.

Somewhat of a hangmans knot. It needs to be re-done. It's gotten a little sloppy after good use, but I like it for pulling it out of the belt sheath. I also used boot laces on mine.

Nice blade, Jim. I keep trying to convince myself to buy one! (Just too many other knives out there...)

Thanks Big and Woodsman. I hear ya Shaggy. I just got it to tide me over until some others I have eyes on come out again.

I've found there is a little hitch in giddy up between the spring and tang just before lock-up. Normal opening speed is okay, but when going slowly, it feels kinda like 2-3 tiny little speed bumps the last little bit. Still cleaning it so we'll see.

It's not a show piece for sure but should be a dang fine work knife :)

If you think the Farmer Locks are nice, latch onto a Wall Street. A little more svelte and refined, every bit the worker and more comfy in hand.

Thanks blademan ... still trying to decide which blade to get on the Wallstreet ... choices choices LoL

The farm and field line as a whole seems like a great value for what you pay for and I particularly like the 99. Don't know why I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Very nice
