GEC Farm & Field Tools, what can we expect?

Barlows! Did someone say, Barlows! I love me some Barlow knives! Especially when they're made in America!

I do wish that GEC made that #25 a bit bigger. Say, 3.5" instead of 3" -- I apologize if I have strayed off topic, also. I just get so excited when I see anything Barlow.

The more that I look at the pics, the more I want one of each...I could be wrong about the whole economy line thing. I just got my Bullnose today and my lord, I have never held anything from a budget line like this...I cannot wait to see what becomes of this.

What color did ya get? Pics, please!

This is the only good photo I have at the moment. Seriously, if this is what their 'Economy Line' is going to look like, I will buy every single model they put out. I cannot wait to buy some of the more exotic stuff.

The handle is super comfy, it has a wonderful snap, the half-stop is a nice touch, perfect grinds...I can't put it down.

Glad to see you're enjoying it. Mine is the same, a touch older....

It's seen some work yet is still rock solid. Any thoughts from people on the pivot set up? this to me is one of the Bullnose's biggest selling points

I hear ya about not being able to put it down. I got my orange one 3 days ago and it's barely left my hands. That black one looks super sexy. I may just pull the trigger on one of those, too! I'm chalking this one up as a great score! Enjoy your new Bullnose, DeadFall!

Hey trevytrev, did you see how bright the handles glow yet? Even though I am not interested in buying one they are pretty neat.

I would have to agree, and thanks buddy! Enjoy your blades everyone.

Will......

I'm with you ,I'd like to see these done in wood jigged or smooth, bone and stag........here's hoping that Farm and Field is a series of knives as opposed to just a delrin edc line.......

Those are some terrific shots, Trevytrev!

I guess we're all curious to know how well that NiteBrite Bullnose holds a charge. I have to admit, despite not being all that interested in a GITD knife, that it sure does look nice sitting next to the orange and black veterans. Give us a GLOWING report, will ya please!

I got my NiteBrite Bullnose today too. I am really impressed. Perfect pull with a nice half stop. Fit and finish is really good. This is my first knife with O1 so I can't wait to see how does. As for the charge..... mine had a faint glow right out of the tube. So either it charged and began glowing in about a half second or it still had some charge from whenever it last saw daylight. Either way I was pleasantly surprised :)

Thanks! So it glows bright enough that when fully charged you can use it to read if placed next to the page, pretty bright actually! The down part is that it doesn't stay charged very long. I had it out in the sun for about 15 minutes, put it in my pocket and about 1 hour or so later it wasn't glowing much. I'll do a better test tonight with my flashlight and report back. It's a nice looker no matter what, I really like the slimmer feel to the knife, its a tad slimmer than the orange and black.

Back from a short trip, I was pretty happy to see the previews of this knife. I like the hawkbill...but the sheepsfoot jack is quite another story. Hopefully, GEC will bring out something good from this pattern. I agree on the "low cost wood" suggestion instead of white delrin or stuff like that (but it's a matter of personal taste).
Meanwhile, I want to thank Jake for these images.

Here are photos of a Schrade New England Whaler (shown with some Case Swayback Jacks) and a Shapleigh Hawkbill.
