GEC Fixed blades?

Hi there all

I recently bit the bullet and bought myself a bocote Canoe from Doc's, and I was wondering if anyone else had any GEC fixed blades and if they wanted to share what they like/dislike about them.

Without handling it I can tell you I like the size and profile, as well as the 1095 steel. I'm not really fussed on the Bocote, and I'm not sure how the bolsters would go right where I want the most traction whilst butchering, but for 80 bucks I'm willing to give it a go and if I find I don't really like it, it will be nothing to strip it back and give her fresh handles.

I'm hoping it will be slim enough for superior slicing, but if its not 1095 and diamond DMT's reprofile edges pretty easily.

The sheath looks pretty decent, although I prefer darker leather. I'll see if I can dye it when it comes in. I don't tend to leave things alone, they always get a little customised.

So what have you got and where are the pics?

Cheers

Glenn

I have one of the #H73411 Upland Hunters in elk stag. Haven't used it yet, but I like the combination of size, thin blade, and plenty of belly for a skinning tool. It should work well along with my larger knives this deer season.
