Gec gaw (winners announced)

Just donated $10 to UNICEF. Wonderful idea for a giveaway! Thanks for the chance (I've been needing more stag in my collection). :D

Hi there. Second cool GAW recently (the other being 'Take the Gold or Open the Box' here in Traditionals).

Dropped (literally, into a coin box) a ten for the Children's Miracle Network yesterday. I'm in. Thanks!

Not an entry, but a beautiful knife.

I currently contribute to Operation Christmas Child, and send out 4-8 boxes each year. It's a great way to get my own kids involved, and teach them about giving back.

I also volunteer yearly, for the last 7 years, with a local charity for children in the foster care system. It is based on the nationally recognized group, Royal Family Kids Camp (search for the movie "Camp" if you want a heart-tugging introduction to this), but done at a local level. I spend a week as a counselor to 1-2 kids, and just hang with them doing Camp-y things, like canoeing, swimming, games, crafts, etc. We throw in some good old-fashioned "values" and teaching, as well. Basically, we show them that they are worthy of unconditional love. It's a blast, but if you know anything about kids in foster care, their lives suck pretty bad, and this camp is something they can look forward to all year. Our local group has added in 2-3 extra days throughout the year, to bring the kids back together for some 1-day events, like a Christmas party, roller skating party, and a "Spring Break" event. Having been the host family for several foster kids, as I was growing up, and my wife having been through foster care, as a child, this charity is very special to me.

Anyway, good luck to all of you, and blessings on the O.P. for starting this thread.

I give 5% on my amazon purchases to food for the poor who specialize in feeding children in Haiti and regularly donate to Mott Children's Hospital. I can put an extra $10 in this week.

Never owned a GEC before so I'm pretty excited. Heck I'm excited for anyone to win!

Please include me. I am a frequent contributor to Planned Parenthood, possibly the best children's' charity of all.

Not an entry but I really admire this GAW! Great causes and a gorgeous knife. My family supports St Jude's. We have a friend who is with us today thanks to thier care. It's time I send another check.

Great GAW! My wife and I do painting classes, and we give $5 per person to Relay for Life. I am pretty sure we were over $200 in January, and we have 2 or 3 classes scheduled this month. So if I qualify, count me in - if not, good luck to all and keep up the generosity!

Awesome GAW, I'm in! I just donated $10 to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. I set up a monthly payment, you've inspired me to give more. Thank You!

I have threw my name in the hat for a few GAW's lately and was going to pass but that Viper is just to hard to pass up on a chance for. My granddaughter contracted type 1 juvenile diabetes at 15 months old that's when we first found out about the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation it is a great charity for children. They not only do remarkable research but also host summer camps and lots of event for the kids throughout the year. Ok I'll stop talking about them now. :D The other charity we send money to is St. Jude Children Hospital we started this when KBA had his GAW to raise money for them last year. So if this qualifies me I'm in and thank you

Wow! My wife and I contribute weekly to out local Church's Youth/Children's ministry where she volunteers with one of the special needs classes. We also give to St Jude as well as Angus Buchan's Youth home (part of his Shalom Ministries). In honor of the OP's wishes, and spurred on by the generosity of others in this thread, I just donated an additional $25 to St Judes as we speak. You cant lose a GAW like this, thanks for putting it together and thanks for the chance 10fingers.

Matt

Hey all, i am giving this away because it never gets pocket time and im sure someone will appreciate it more the me (dont get me wrong i do love it but not like my beer scout and drover) to qualify for this GAW you must donate at least $10usd to a childrens charity and report back here that you donated and are in for the viper! My charityof choice is levine childrens hospital so if you dont know of a childrens charity its a good one and they have easy online donation options
...

Not an entry, 10fingers, since as you said, lots of folks would probably appreciate that fabulous GEC Viper more than I would.
But thanks for your generous GAW , and I admire the way you designed it with "a cause". This thread inspired me to send in my March of Dimes contribution for this year already (instead of waiting until the fall, as usual).
Best wishes to all the participants! :D

Thank you to the OP for doing this GAW. It helps more than some know and encourages thoselike myself who depend on places such as this.:  Not an entry good sir as it would not get carried.

Thank you for giving. My family really is touched by those who give. :)

Your welcome. I work as an occupational therapist and have had several children as patients who were saved bh them. They also helped one of my parents as a kid. And my brother has worked to audit their banking security protocols. I've heard nothing but good of them and donate regularly. I have a knife on auction right now that I made the sheath for to benefit them over on Bushcraft USA and plans to make a knife of my own to donate to them soon. They get a lot from me when I have stuff to give but I believe that God has blessed me and my family so that I may be a blessing to others and spread His word. That aorganization does just this at times of GREAT need for many families. My little hobby shop barely hangs on but I don't really care if it's profitable. I just want enough money from it to keep me in tools and materials and let me occasionally donate to good causes.

Not an entry although I've given much to children's charities I've received much more in return for what they've done for my grand daughter. Thanks to all.

I donated $40 to Akron Children's Hospital Saturday morning. My great-niece has been there 3 times in the last year so I figured they were a logical, deserving choice.
