GEC Harness Jack Progress

No question about Charlie being the undisputed king, of the near and dear to my hart, vintage Harness Jack pattern! This community owes him a dept of gratitude we will never be able to pay back to him! He is also one of the finniest human beings you're ever likely to encounter!.. Thanks again for bringing that fact up, Dave..

Ed and all, here is the HJ that I acquired and mentioned here earlier in a recent post. I really do like your 'Northfield' GEC better than this GEC 'Tidioute' but I must confess that she will do just fine to be certain! I am very much looking forward to putting her hi-carbon steel to work and good use and watching the colorful patina develop in the meantime.. :D .. So thanks again for sharing in this thread..

Best,

That's a fine looking knife Anthony and is certainly able to handle any task that comes it's way. The handles are really nice looking -- great coloring and even mottling throught out the scale. You said you liked mine better (perhaps because of the swedged blade) but your knife looks great. That spear blade really sets it off. Now get off yer behind and get it working!!!:D:thumbup:;)

I've got a spear main in amber bone, with the UN-X-LD touches: swedged, long pull, threaded bolster.
I EDC this one occasionally, but so far it's patina free.

They all look mighty fine to me. Every one of them! My wallet just ran around behind the dresser. - Ed

OK pard, I'm a getting off my sorry arse PDQ in the next few days regarding EDC'n this cool little HJ pattern for sure. :D .. I'll even go ahead and post an additional image or two of the patina process if anyone may be interested?.

.. And yours has not only the better swedge but also has the slightly nicer overall spear point design and long pull. But, I reckon she'll serve well enough in the field during chore time.

Good LORD, there be another perfect pedigree of GEC HJ pattern beauty! That is another specimen with the total package! Those scales are absolutely first rate and the preferred and aforementioned best spear blade design to boot, IMO.

Ed, here's to long arms and fat wallets! ;) :D

Yea, I'll give up a wholehearted Amen to that! :D

Best,
Anthony
