GEC has gone canoeing...#16 Indian Girl

Interested in this one, hope all is smooth and sunken. I may have to let others jump in the pool first! From the planned pattern, it looks like its gonna be close.

I love Canoes personally. With that being said a GEC rendition is somewhat overdue IMHO. One of my favorite traditional EDC knives is a Case CV Canoe in Amber Bone. However, I personally don't care for the etching on the blade, and as we all know GEC is crazy about etching, but as long as it isn't anything too terribly corny like what's on the Case CV Canoe I'm game.

Love the canoe pattern but am afraid that one doesn't have big enough handle bumps (is there a name for those?) to hide the tangs, which is one of the best features of the pattern to me. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Need to see a pic w/ the blades closed.

I've been waiting for this one. From the looks of things it the bolsters don't have a very exaggerated rise above the main flank of the scales, I hope the ends of the blades are still properly sunk.

Well...

that looks great. It may just be the angle of the photo, but the blade looks huge in proportion to the handle, I like it when a knife can have that sort of illusion.

Anyone know what the closed length is on this one? 3 5/8" would be perfect.

I think GEC has put out enough lately in the 3.5" range.

Corey,
I'm almost sure that it's 3,5" closed (I read it somewhere, don't remember where though). The spear blade looks pretty big compared to the handle. I was wishing for a more asymmetrical spear shape as well. yet, this looks pretty nice, and I'm glad that GEC is leaning a bit more towards "pocketable" knives after many >4" bulky knives. Now I'm curious to learn what the Coon Skinner will be...
