Im new with GEC and was wondering if every model are kinda like sprint runs, every website I visit have alot of models out of stock. Does GEC remake certain models or once they make the batch of knives are they're gone forever?

GEC is a smaller company that produces knives in the old classic methods. No real modern machinery. The do not do spirit runs but there runs are scattered and unpredictable. They do common product of a pattern and SFO - Special factory orders - (Northwoods, Hess, Moore Maker etc) They produce anywhere from 15 a pattern to 300 depending on variables. They go extremely quick and are often flipped at triple the price

Hey Luffwaffe, this is probably a better discussion in the traditional forum, KBA is a regular there. So to answer your question, yes. GEC is a small is a small company, and I don't have an idea on how they determine the runs of each batch.

Yes and no. They do small batches of models and once gone, they are gone possibly forever or possibly for just a few years, you just never know. They also do custom orders for shops which are usually a one time release. Sometimes they may do them again in a different handle material or blade pattern.

The thing to keep in mind with GEC is, if you like a model, and it's available, grab it.

Make sure you have good will power when looking at GEC knives. I only wanted to have one really good traditional knife to carry and now I have 5.

That would be correct. If you like something, buy it. Sometimes they sell out so fast I can't believe it. Makes you wonder why the pricing is like it is... Yes, a bit higher than Case or Queen, but not outlandishly high either.

Tell me about it! I had originally intended to pick up a few GECs as regular users. Fast forward a few years and I've ended up with a collection of over fifty of 'em, the majority being factory test runs, premium stags, and other assorted limited runs. And by limited, I mean less than ten made in a particular configuration; sometimes as few as one or two. From what I gather from watching the secondary market, these beautiful knives proving to be a sound investment as production knives go. I certainly have no regrets.
