GEC Rehandled! Thx Bill Howard and Chris

Nice work, that Calico Bone is choice stuff.:thumbup:

Wish I could get them to re-handle my single blade 73 Tidioute in Ivory Bone. I dropped it the day I got it and cracked it at the centre-pin on the pile side. I asked three or four times if they will replace the handle at my expense or re-handle the whole knife in say Calico again at my expense. But I keep being told they have no stock of 73 handles and I must wait until they do, this is a bit odd and frustrating actually.

Regards, Will

Well they do only have certain stock of sizes to work with at any given time. I'm sure they will let you know when they have some. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks singin, they certainly did a fine job on yours.

I'm just surprised/frustrated as the 73 is one of the most common patterns and I expected something to be in stock, I think Queen or CASE keep supplies of handles.

This is the kind of feedback that makes me a GEC life long customer....... that and the great quality knives.

I agree, willgoy, I would say that they are extremely busy right now with production of several SFOs and regular day to day production, I'm sure in time they will attend to you. I got an email back from Chris today that said this Calico bone on my 2007 #23 is the only one out there since they didn't start using this bone till 2012 and my knife is a 2007. I went from 1 of 250 to 1 of 1, HAPPY!:)

Perry, my friend... I think that GEC are just absolutely superb! just fantastic people, I kinda liked the look of that Horn - I think it was an extremely handsome knife, now I would say its a extremely Classy looking knife, and I am glad they kept the Acorn Shield - a older theme sorta going on there-and that Bone does look old already - which - is out there in terms of awesomeness!

Thank you Duncan!! I asked them specifically to keep the shield. I also liked the horn on there but Bill said that adding it back might have the same result over time. Horn covers do have this tendency, also Chris said they didn't have any horn of this size in stock. I had the choice of either Calico or some different jig bones. Thank you my friend!!
