This will be my first rendezvous. I’m really looking forward to it. I live a little over 5 hours away but I really want to see what this event is all about. Any recommendations for a newbie to get the most out of the weekend?

bring cash, and it depends. rendezvous are not what they used to be. it used to be civilized but over the years its changed quite a bit. last year we had some one sneak in on the line to scalp knives. in my earliest rendezvous, you could sleep in and show up early and still manage alright. unfortunately these days its about the campouts. the other year i had sworn it wasnt worth losing sleep over, but last year i camped out over night for the experience. its a fun evening, but it got cold, into the 50s. Night two I drove in around 4am and it was swamped. It depends on how much you want the knives. Its certainly an experience. The crowds have definitely changed.

The rendezvous is an event that’s on my bucket list. I’ll make it “one day”. I live close to the beach in South MS. I’m sure I’d pass a lot of members on the drive up to Titusville. Have always had this idea of picking up folks on the way up. Could end up being a great idea or we could end up arguing over the beard comb the whole time, who knows? 😃

I’ve never been to a rendezvous, but with the recent advent of voracious GEC scalpers, I’m kind of turned off by what sounds like the mob “mad dash”

I think it would be amazing if GEC held a rendezvous of sorts where no new Knives were available for purchase - just a gathering of folks - chattin’ and trading among the attendees and GEC employees/enthusiasts. That might turn off the scalpers…😊
