Hello to all, I haven't posted in a while but have still been lurking. Work and life have kept me hoppin lately. I was wanting to know if GEC has ever thought of producing a scout type knife? Has any one brought it to their attention before? It is certainly one of my favorite patterns, in fact it's my edc right now. (Hammer brand kamp king)

I know there are plenty that would buy one, however it would require them to tool up again. And this is a costly process. Honestly don't know if they've ever thought about making one though.

They already make spear point blades, awls and a caplifter/screwdriver blade so maybe design a can opener and then stick them all in an even end design like a 53 Cuban....just thinking.

Yes, the Cigar or Cuban pattern would be the best frame for it.

Kept seeing my Boker 940 as I was typing on this thread.....

They already have everything for a knife like this Camillus Cub Scout. Would be perfect on a 68 frame.

Second for a Cub Scout; the double spring from the 68 Buckaroo, the bail from the 68 White Owl, a crown lifter from the #15 and a harness knife's punch.
I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Most likely more than one, just to have an example of all the covers they could dress them in.
However, I could do without the liner locks. Oh, and I would prefer the main spear behind the crown lifter... if I could have my druthers.

With the 53 cigar pattern being 4 1/4" I think it would be slightly large, but then again, no one else is making one that is of a LARGE variety. A 68 would be a more compact version, but I'd like to see it fall somewhere in between these two patterns. Like the "medium Barlow", a medium Cigar???

I'd love to see a scout, and I'm betting if it happened, they would be just about as well received as the Charlows.

I'm glad to see there's such a warm reception to the idea! I however would like to see a full size scout, with can opener and all. Maybe give it classic look with nice jigged bone scales, or any other currently popular scales:) I could take or leave the bail tho.

How about a hollow rivet, that way you could add a bail, or leave without.;)

I would buy it within a heartbeat - no matter about the money ;)

But it should definitelly sit on an equal end frame.

As much as I picture a can opener on a Scout Knife I would be fine with a 2nd blade. GEC #68 frame + spearpoint blade + caplifter + awl + pen blade + bail = money spent.

Depending on the covers they use...I would strongly consider buying one.

Merry Christmas, Guys & Gals, Tom

The Boker 940 has a pen instead of an awl.
