GEC "Store" Models (Seconds?)..If You Have One I'd.....

That doesn't make any sense Trav Travman Travman . Just because a knife is sold via the store, shouldn't mean it is marked as so. I've bought knives from the store in the past and none of them have been marked with an S. I just bought an S marked knife from CK and it was sold as S - Cosmetic Blemish the S meaning Second.

This knife just came in this afternoon. It is marked with an S after the patern number on the spey blade.

When I resized the picture it reduced the S; however, if you enlarge the picture you can clearly see the S.

A better shot showing the S after the pattern number.

I have bought several "S" models and it's almost always something really small. Often times it takes several looks to even find anything.

Have a 43S Orange Camel bone. IIRC the flaw is the usual little crack that we’ve seen at the lanyard hole.
Still too pretty for me to carry, lol.

I have a #81 "S" and for the life of me cannot find the flaw. I've spent more time guessing where the flaw than I care to admit. It's sold me on the S models!

“Early on the factory realized that many times there are small cosmetic issues with the knives that it would not be fair to put on someone at the same price as a standard product. Their original intent was to sell them out of the factory store marked with an "S" for store.”

Just ‘cause it’s a cosmetic flaw, doesn’t mean it’s not a Second. If it’s given to dealers, “S” doesn’t mean store. Spyderco does the same thing, you just have to go to Golden once a year.

some Ss
