GEC's jigging

Funny, the timing:

Golly dog, if GEC didn't just sidle up to the original Horsecut (seen in my #25 earlier in this thread, and below) with their new "Pony Cut" on Charlie's barlow:

I think when I started that thread I was saying the same thing the OP here is saying. I'd really like to see jigging from GEC that was more random..... especially the peach seed..... I'd love to see something like the old schrades. :faint:

Of course, I'd like to see some corn cob too!!!

Agree completely. I do like my GEC's that have a definite "patterned symmetry" the 2016 TC peach seed and the herringbone like autumn leaf 74 I just got. But, I prefer random hand carved look jigging. It just seems more organic.

There are so many styles? I always thought peach seed jigging was so named because it looked like a peach pit? The jigging on the 2016 TC is way to machined looking for that description. IMO

Add me to the random pattern jigging camp. That, aside from the punch blade on the 2016 forum knife being impossible to open, has been my only complaint with GEC. I can't really call it a complaint, more like a don't really prefer it.

Burnt grizzly cut bone is one of my all-time favorites, as found on my inaugural GEC, a Tidioute #54 Big Jack.

And we could use a new round of some color of stag bone, preferably on a larger knife.

From the left: Green Mountain, Brimstone, Burnt Carved Stag Bone, River Blue, Carved Pumpkin.

I'm not sure why gec doesn't do a more individual pattern per knife, such as the old makers. They have shown they can in some cases at least.
