Honestly, when I first saw a picture of the beast I was certain it was a PS job. But no, the thing actually exists!

I just found it on evilBay, for $1250 (). Except for displaying it as "something unusual" in your collection or maybe as a boat anchor, is there any practical use for it?

Unfrigginbelievable

Maybe you can bludgeon someone to death with it. There's like 14 blades in that thing. I'd love to see someone try to use a screwdriver in the middle.

It's a novelty for the stringent collector...;) Most knives out there are manufactured to rattle the collector in us all as well tweak the interest of the first time buyer. I would say this on has "Collector" written all over it...:D I rather think it's pretty awesome myself....

We all know that thing isn't meant to be carried. It probably has every tool ever put in a swiss army knife. I'd be cool just to own and admire.

Well, erm, I have to confess that it does look cool in an oddball way...:p
If wasn't so expensive I would be tempted to display it in my knife cabinet.

Unfortunately it has many duplicates of the same tools. Just like the Victorionox version; the XAVT. It's like a swiss champ stopped working out and moved into a dunken donuts:eek: The XAVT would be a practical tool if it didn't have all the duplicate parts to. But it's still carry able and could be practical.

But yeah, this one by Wenger is just way over the top.

You know what would be really cool? If you could dismantle it or somehow unhinge and slide the tools out to make any kind of SAK you want. Whether you only needed something basic like a blade and some siccors or had to carry a dozen different tools you'd be able to create your own custom SAK. And not for nothing, with that price tag you should be able to do exactly that.

I always liked the Wenger SAKs more than Victorinox - their main blades are often locking (albeit with a somewhat weak lock), their scissors are partially serrated and have a nice cam-based resistance system rather than the leaf spring on the Victorinox knives, and they are somewhat more compact. I don't think the "more compact" part really applies to this knife, though . . .

For a lot less than that price tag I could pick a dozen SAKs and buy them - then I would have whatever kind of SAK I wanted just by choosing which one suited my needs.

Honestly guys this thing is uglier than Frankenstein's monster! What looks good is a knife that has not only aesthetic value, but also practicality. A tool that looks good and works good is beautiful, a monstrosity that looks ridiculous and would be impossible to use - just looks silly.

not too good for survival;by the time you find the tool you need you'll be dead :D

Maybe the idea is to open all the tools and then lob the entire contraption at whatever needs tooling

they need to make one about half that size with -only- cutting blades in it lol, just every shape/size/serrations etc. not even a saw though, just blades

IIRC this was made by Wenger to showcase all of the implements that are available on their various knife models. I think it's called the "Every Implement Tool".
Wenger is more innovative than Victorinox in that they make a lot more "specialty" variations of knives, with specialized tools, in smaller batches for various groups and organizations. It's be cool to have one if I won the lottery though.

I keep checking out Wenger SAK's so far they haven't really appealed to me. Now I do like the Evo Grip their using and on their swiss champ, it looks great. Except their swiss champ model has less tools then the victorinox model. I may pick up the XAVT at some point it does look cool.
