Almost Gembloux-time again! The theme this year is "Japan".

Approximately 150 tables with knives, knifemaking supplies, and all things knife related. Knifemakers from all over the world.

Kind regards,

I always study these images closely. I am very familiar with the knives in the USA.

It is so interesting to see the variety of differing styles from Europe.

It keeps us honest, and often humble. :)

No excuse not to Brion. ;) In the grand scheme of things, all of the expenses other than the plane ticket are still cheap enough that it makes for a nice little European "working vacation" even if you don't have a great sales show. Getting their is the big expense. Tables (smaller than ours) are $155 or so and the primary hotel in the area is around $125 a night including breakfast. I leave Tuesday for a little bit of pre show tourism. :D
I want the poster. I wish I could come over for this show sometime.

Coop, the good news is that we will have Norbert in attendance this year. He is the gentleman who has taken some of the Sam Lurquin knife pictures that we have seen recently. I don't think that he will have a full setup, but still, this is a step up from the more typical guys snapping pics of tables with cell phones cams that we have had in the past couple of years.

Today!!!!! I got in Wednesday and have already gained 5 pounds. I visited fellow knifemaker Remy Boulin down in Lille, France yesterday and discovered that the French college girls in that town are hot enough to make your skull exploded. :D

Sitting in my hotel at the Brussels airport fondling my big pimp roll of Euros. ;). Well, maybe not a REAL pimp roll, but I am coming back with 7 fewer knives than I left Florida with and I sold all of my lightning strike carbon fiber, including my own stash. I had a couple of possible deals fall through, but that's life in the big city. This was my best show to date and a good time was has by most far as I can tell. The only black mark is that two knives were apparently stolen. Unfortunately, that seems to be all too common at shows over the last few years. I still have some nice pieces left that I will be posting over in the for sale section so keep an eye out and you too can own a knife with a stamp in its passport. :D Norbert (Berno) was running around taking pics, so hopefully he will have a bunch to show us when he gets home.

Gembloux is really a great knife-show.

I had a great time (as usual) : Joe didn't mention that there is a delicious local beer too !

And yes Lille can be an extremely attractive place on sunny days !!!

Let us prepare for next year's show now !!!

;)

Wish I could take the trip but the way things are going I'll be lucky to get to blade this year.

I was lucky enough to get across the pond this past July and hope to again next summer.

It would be nice to see Sam lurquin and Norbert on their home turf!

Regards Jeff

Gembloux was great again! Met old friends and made new one's. Tried to avoid Joe, but that didn't work.
Sales were very good from what I've heard.

Can't wait till next year!!

Pics!!

Lots of pics please, would very much like to see............will try and go next year for sure.

Quiet, Pukey Dutch Boy!!!!! On a related note, after looking at the various pics posted on other forums, I am now convinced that i did suffer a bit of a visibility problem being up their on the terrace with the suppliers.
Bumping into Joe is not so bad, he's fairly soft.

I had a great knifeshow.

The photos thread on the NCZ forum is a bit biased as the photographers admitted they took only 20% of the maker's tables because of cramped and overcrowded conditions. It mainly shows the makers that they know and are familiar with.
