Latest one done here at the Deker shop.

1084, lightly blued mild steel fittings, ironwood spacer, and Gemsbok handle (thanks to J. Neilson for this one!). This is also my first carved buttcap. You can see a bit of it in these pics.

Ed! Good to see you! Where ya' been?

The carving bit was fun. Get a dremel flex shaft and stock up on cratex wheels for the clean up. ;)

That is sweet!! I was wondering when I was going to get a peek at some of your work. Very nice!!!

Thanks for he kind words folks! It's kind of funny, but when I started this one I wasn't too excited about it. It seems (with me at least) that it's always the ones that you think might look kind of "off" always turn out best :)

Really turned out nice. I have noticed that sometimes the ones that kind of confuse you and cause you to rethink and rethink come out fantastic when it is all said and done. You figured this one out and it is excellent:thumbup:

That IS a weird phenomenon.

deker, This knife came together nicely! Get working on those sheaths. First show I did I had over 60 sheaths to make in a weeks period of time. That was not much fun......

I've got an order of supplies that will hopefully be here later this week or early next. I've got 3 more to make as well.

And, lucky me, this one has found a new home already so I'll get to ship it right out when it's done! :)

Thanks again for all the kind words folks.

Nice knife deker  I really like that Gemsbok ! Its the first I've seen and I agree, it looks comfy with a real, real good grip ;) Your stuff keeps getting better and better and ....... :D Have a great New Year Brother

Oops...forgot the size stats.

It's a 4 1/2" cutting edge and 9 3/4" OAL.

David: It's surprisingly comfy to my hand anyways. Thanks for the compliment too! We'll see if I can get good enough for my JS in 2009/2010 ;)
