I recently won a Generation 1 Endura w/fully serrated G2 blade steel . Can anyone give me a review on what I'm about to recieve. Is the steel good? Does it have phoser bronze bushings? Just curious.

I have a couple of Gen 1 plain edge with aus-8. I took a look for you but the frn is
so tight I cannot tell for sure about the bushings. Good lite knives, no boye dent, no
jimping on the top of the blade, molded clip, I quite like 'em, enjoy yours.

I don't think the Gen1s had any bushings other than bumps on the handle scales. Or if they did, they were nylon???

Usually linerless FRN models don't have washers.

I've got a couple of them in AUS-8. Good knives and I've not had any problems with the molded clip breaking but that was a problem for some so be careful.

i love my gen 1 endura in aus8 and spydieEdge!!! i think the softer steel is great for a serrated edge and the finish on the older enduras is really top notch!! as for the molded clip its not an issue unless you get one of the early gen 1 models with the thin clip(they made it wider and thicker due to breaking) .anyway enjoy your knew knife

I have a generation 1 Endura with the narrower molded clip. I Carried it daily for over ten years. The clip never broke but bent out enough so that pocket retention became a problem. I retired it from active service when the lock could no longer be relied upon. All in all, a great knife and a stepping stone to more Spyderco knives:)

Personally, I feel that AUS-8 was a step backwards from GIN-1/G-2. The more I use my older Spydies, the better I like G-2. Nice snag, but as others have said, be careful with the narrow molded clip.

The only problem with the Gen1 Endura was it kept falling out of my pocket in cars and theaters. I was always fishing it out from under the car seat frame or going back into a theater to find the knife. The improved metal clip on the Gen2/3 knives keeps it in your pocket.

i've got a gen-1 delica with the gin2 steel and i used that knife for @ 6 years. i did manage to break off the tip by dropping it on concrete, but after reprofiling, it was as good as new. i've retired it because of the clip tension issue, don't want to loose my first spydie! that knife kept its edge quite well, and was easy to resharpen. and i loved that pointy tip!!!!
