Up for sale is a Gen 1 Howling Rat. I am not the original owner, but IMO, she looks like she has never been sharpened, and she is still very sharp.

Coating wear amounts to very slight smoothing on one side and about 10 small scratches on the other that look more like someone took a pencil and drew a line across the coating. The smoothing and scratches are so faint that they really have to catch the glare from strong light to even be noticeable. The coating is not worn through or chipped anywhere on this blade. The Res-C is as new.

She can be yours for $183 shipped CONUS via USPS Priority with insurance if paying by MO. We will make it $188 even if using PP.

SPF!!! SPF!!! SPF!!!

***NOW AVAILABLE FOR WORLD WIDE SHIPPING***

The first "I'll take it" in this thread gets her. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get arguably one of the most desired, difficult-to-find Howling Rats yet. No trades at this time please.

Ok folks...finally here are the (very big) pics.

Also, she will be available for worldwide shipping in less than 48 hours if she is still here. Additional shipping costs will likely apply.

OK, this is now available for worldwide shipping contigent upon the following:

First the "bad" news:

She will be valued at $183 USD on the Customs Declaration. And I am told that even though there are boxes on the form for either surface/non-priority or air/priority, the only one they even do any more is air/priority.

She will be sent out only using the USPS.

Payment must be in USD and be the equivalent of $183 USD.

I will try to get insurance for $183, but if I understand anything about the US Postal system (which is highly unlikely), that may not be possible depending on where she is going. Regardless of whether I can get insurance or not, once she is out of my hands, if she gets lost, that is a loss the buyer must incur. If there is insurance and she gets lost, the buyer will get back whatever the USPS ultimately pays on the claim, when they pay the claim.

The price will not go lower. Frankly, I'm amazed that she is still here.

Now the good news:

This is your chance to get a GREAT knife at (IMO) a fair price. It is in tremendous shape, not that that should be an issue with Swamp Rats incredible lifetime warranty. It is also a hard-to-find knife. Go ahead--see if you can find another for sale. :)

I have many flawless transactions here. Check the GB&U sub-forum. Some of those tranactions involved shipping to foreign countries. I have never had a problem yet (knock on wood :D ) -- no lost/stolen knives, not a single dissatisfied buyer or seller.

Excluding this knife, I have 5 Howling Rats with Res-C handles, all different. IMO, they are arguably the best knife ever offered by SRKW. 'Nuff said.

SO... if you are going to get her, now is the time to do so. If she does not sell, then she will be withdrawn from sale until a later date.

Again, the first "I'll take it" in this thread gets her, contingent on the above.

I hear a lot of chatter around the rat's nest...

"Gen 1 HRs are the best!" or "Boy, I'd sure like a Gen 1."

Well, folks, the time to act is now. If not, she just might be withdrawn without advanced warning. ;)
