First off, I'd like to thank Bladeforums for this splendid community, and the hard-charging moderators and paying membership that contributes to its existence.
These are three Cold Steel Hand-Picked Trail Hawk heads mounted on our Gen 1 Mk 2 composite handles.
We call them IGH's (Instant Gratification Hawks) because they do not match any models that are currently on order by our investors, as they are a by-product of the building process of other hawks - so no wait for a custom order.
Left-to-Right:
Maroon/Coyote - Length 22 inches SOLD 30 JAN 2008
Multicam - Length 23 1/4 inches with ThunderDome crown (we will be glad to add paracord wraps at no charge.)SOLD 24 JAN 2008
Black/Coyote - Length 22 inches SOLD 23 JAN 2008
Each hawk is in the weight-area of 24 ounces and is perfectly-balanced IMHO.
Asking price is $175 plus shipping for any of these three hawks.
All our hawks are covered by a Lifetime Guarantee and a Happiness Guarantee. - Knives and Hawks are serious tools, and we think you shouldn't have to wonder how long they are going to last!
We don't want you to just use these hawks, we want you to love them.
......
Details:
These standard composite Gen 1 Mk 2 handles have a gentle curve on the poll side, and a flat Strike Plate on the side of the bit,
which allows for increased turning capability, and better tracking, as well as many other advantages.
The handles are 1000 Denier Cordura wrapped, and locked in place three ways, for grip, durability, and noise-signature considerations.
We reinforce 200-Lb. Workload Steel Rings in the butt of the handles, and cowl them in composite material, which allows more effective length for grip than a lanyard hole passing through in the same spot on the handle, as is the conventional way.
Paracord wraps lock in place at the ends as hand-stops, when a lanyard is undesired. We encourage you to throw your hawks responsibly, and in that evolution hand-stops, through-holes, and lanyards can be detrimental to accuracy in our experience, so the cowled ring and removable paracord become immediately beneficial as features of a hawk.
Paracord-wrapped necks give added overstrike protection to the already-reinforced composite handle, and also serve well as handy line during survival-syle and ultralight camping.
We appreciate your consideration, brethren.
