this hawk is based on our Gen 1 Mk 4 Composite Handle. it features some experimental graphics that i really like. - all protected by our Epoxy Vapor Coat for durability.
standard on the new Gen 1 Mk 4 Composite Handle are our .50 Caliber polycarbonate thru-tube, which we plug with airtight removable plugs for your storage - it might be the last survival kit you ever change to - folks also like to use them for blowing a flame to life, or using as a blowgun, where not prohibited by law.
the Gen 1 Mk 4 composite handles can be fit to most hawks and axes - this one has a bit-aligned Cold Steel Trail Hawk made of 1055 steel - we love this head. - teh small bit is twice the size it needs to be with the added control that the Gen 1 Mk 4's ergonomic cross-section allows, and the poll is great to have for chores and combatives alike.
a proper long hawk is a strange beast because it is an equally-good tool and weapon, equalled in utility and readiness only by its brother the Knife, in my opinion.
the hawk is 24.25 inches long and a hair short of 24 ounces - which is an almost perfect ounce-to-inch ratio that we have found makes the best hawk physics - most hawks on the market are well over this limit of 1 to 1 - too heavy, and too short IMHO.
