a few images taken tonight, tough knife, the images show some of the
cable damascus used in making up the blade;

The top of the clip portion is NOT sharpened but could easily be done that way

Does Gene Osborn have a makers mark anywhere on the knife(remember I'm a rookie with sometimes dumb questions). I've never been a big fan of Bowie's or Damascus for that matter, but this one looks mighty nice with the inlaid work on the butt....

His usual mark are three crosses about middle of his blade, but this one being
damascus I do not find those anywhere amongst the pattern.

Now this knife is more what I would call Rustic in it's very makeup, the end
cap piece is nice, the guard for me, I'd like to have seen it more closer to
the stag handle size with the guard being down, it's overall diameter is larger
than the stag, it's ok, but different, more like a sword's guard
the blade is not too thick but it's thickness stays almost full down from the spine
meaning that it doesn't come to it's edge gradually, but more abruptly as you
near the edge, so for me, a more convex grind down from the spine would
have been nicer, but, it is sharp and just testing it on a piece of hard leather
cuts well, so, as said above, it's a Rustic piece or a period style piece with
that bit of grace there in the butt cap, nicely done.

I contacted Mr. Gene Osborn regarding the build of this knife, here is his
reply;

Hi Gary,
That one is very old, but I do recognize the work.
The blade was a kit blade I made and a customer had me dress it out, thus no stamp.
I sell blades to makers all over the world with no stamp, most I dress up do have the stamp.
It was originally a blade for sale, then became the knife you see, by request.
I hope this helps. Be blessed,
Gene Osborn
