General Consensus, Gayle Bradley Fullsize

The Gayle Bradley is my favorite folder currently in my collection. For me, the knife is a perfect storm of awesomeness. It's got carbon fiber scales for a bit of class, the CPM M4 is a fantastic steel and has had amazing edge retention in my uses, the blade opens extremely smooth, it's got a very solid liner lock with absolutely no blade play in any direction and the hollow grind gets very thin at the edge, making it a great slicer. This knife cuts better than my Stretch, Para 2, Military, Endura, Delica, and almost all others.

Put all of these traits together and you get a classy-looking, hard-use knife with fantastic slicing capabilities and great edge retention... all for a good price.

As Powernoodle mentioned above, the only complaint I have at all (and it's a small one) is the partially occluded Spydie hole. I doesn't affect my ability to open the knife, but it can create a bit of a "hot-spot" when disengaging the liner lock.

I own many high end knives and lots and lots of Spydies and I must say the Gayle is one of my favorite Spydies if not my favorite! It is just about perfect IMO. I just got the Spydie Schemmp Tuff and my first impression is while nice and definitely heavy duty, I still prefer my Gayle!!

Wow, it's nice to see positive comments still coming in for this knife. I started this thread in the hopes that it would put me over the top with regards to getting a Bradley. I love everything about it and after researching many threads, especially the one entitled "Gayle Bradley Hard Use", I was set to pull the trigger. However at the last minute, I had a change of heart, or direction as it may be. I have been enamored with the Caly 3 Damascus Sprint ever since I saw a picture of it and was dying to acquire one of those as well. I decided that the availability of the Caly 3 was very limited and if I didn't jump on one of those, I would certainly regret it. So, the Gayle Bradley was bumped from the top of my list all the way down to number 2, not much of a fall wouldn't you say? Anyway, the Caly 3 is on it's way as we speak. I am thrilled to have gotten the chance to acquire one before they were gone.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, the Gayle Bradley has moved back up into the number 1 spot on my list. Simply a minor postponement. Thanks for all the comments and insight. As I assumed, the Bradley is a hell of a knife and will soon be a member of the family! ;)

As always I'll jump on board to sing the Gayle Bradley's praises. If I could only have one knife, this would be it.

This thread, and the review/discussion thread that is linked to, are what convinced me to order a GB. It's on it's way...

I dont particularly care for the shape of the gayle bradley too much. It is a secure grip but not the type of handle shape I prefer. But the steel is my absolute favorite, the carbon fiber is the type I love and it is a very smooth and strong knife.

I have never really used mine for harduse but the edge is very thin and the blade has will have a ton of life in it. It would not surprise me if we see some being passed down a generation or two. Solid, solid, solid quality knife for an outrageous price. It is comparable in quality to the southard but it cuts better in my opinion and the steel is a ton easier to sharpen. For almost half the price of the southard. If it wasnt for the shape of the handle I would prefer the Bradley over the Southard.

Seriously get one. The Taiwan factory is hitting homeruns left and right.
