I brought this home in a bucket of files and chisels I got at a garage sale yesterday...
Any help with identifying the type and purpose of this cleaver(?) Would be appreciated.
I have found no stamps or markings anywhere yet. Maker is not important so much as intended use and strength/durability of the steel.

The shape of the handle looks to be an Old Hickory. DM
